Welcome to Caitlin’s Corner! This month, I decided to look into what certain birds symbolize. Some may be familiar to you, but others not so much. So, here are 10 different birds that represent more than you probably know:

1. Bluebird – A bluebird is all about other people’s happiness, showing balance in life. They are usually pictured as having spiritual joy, and if another sees one, they will have better luck than before. Bluebirds also are associated with hard work. In many different cultures and even mythology, the bluebird is a symbol of cheerfulness, prosperity, and good health.

2. Blue Jay – A blue jay will help in survival, guide, and aid. Yet, it still symbolizes faithfulness and a pure soul, with the idea of a blue-colored bird against a blue sky. Blue jays are usually gentle with others, talkative, truthful, and brave when protecting family. Making the best with what it has where it lives, a blue jay remains resourceful.

3. Canary – A canary spreads joy to all! It can show others how to bring light into their own lives. There are the wild canaries, which are thought to be free and gossip, but also there are the ones that are in cages, symbolizing being trapped.

4. Duck – Wild ducks, surprisingly enough, symbolize sensitivity and grace. A duck has a balance between mind and emotions, but besides that, has a great sense of adventure.

5. Eagle – Seeing an eagle can bring others healing, prosperity, and generosity. Eagles are often symbolized as patient, confident, free, positive, and triumphant. They soar, reaching new heights, and help others find balance, even with the occurrence of change.

6. Magpie – Magpies symbolize bliss and a happy approach on life, but also unpredictable behavior and not much discipline. This results in a contradicting personality. This bird is talkative, quite flashy, and fortunate in life. With all these characteristics, magpies have creative expression, mystery, and may be viewed as good luck.

7. Owl – The symbolic values of an owl you may already be familiar with. An owl is individual, wise, and smart. Seeing an owl can mean danger or that you are being judged. But, one teaches patience and silence.

8. Peacock – A peacock is all pride and prestige. One is successful and conscious of what is going on around them. A peacock has wisdom about the beauty around him or her.

9. Raven – Like a magpie, a raven has both good and bad things about it. A raven can be seen as misfortunate and deceptive, but also is a watchful teacher. A raven helps others by ushering new awareness and light. Are you into mystery? The raven is mysterious with secrets, but can’t seem to keep them. So, listen for the raven’s call.

10. Roadrunner – A roadrunner is always quick! This might be with thinking, or speed in general. One is a leader and has a stable personality, showing others grace when going through situations in their lives. A roadrunner is always working hard and on his or her toes.

So, which bird do you associate yourself with the most? Keep this bird in mind and come back next month to transform into this bird! See you next time on Caitlin’s Corner!
