Hello bird lovers, and welcome back to Caitlin’s Corner! Caitlin’s Corner is part of the Art of Birding, so I introduce you to art this month! Here are a few coloring books of birds that you will absolutely love:

1. America’s Favorite Birds: 40 Beautiful Birds to Color: I really love the concept of how this coloring book was put together. It was designed based on what the population of North America thinks are the best, most popular wild birds. The Cornell Lab conducted a vote and there were 250,000 votes in only four days! It is an intricate coloring book with 88 pages of fun for all ages, especially teens and adults. While the family is coloring, everyone can read about the characteristics, behaviors, and colors of the bird they working with! There are also actual photos of the birds included and the pages can easily be torn out so you can hang your masterpiece on the wall. As of when this article was written, the book has a five star rating on Amazon. Convinced to check it out?

2. Birds of Paradise: A Coloring Expedition: As of when this article was written, the book also has a five star rating on Amazon. Like America’s Favorite Birds, there are 88 perforated pages for the whole family to enjoy! It is different from most coloring books because this one highlights different birds from the famous documentary on Youtube with more than 11 million views. With this book, you can learn about the birds and habitats in Papau New Guinea taught from an expert with pictures from an actual expedition!

3. Backyard Birds and Blossoms: You are just in time for this book! It comes out for most retailers on April 11, so it is brand-new as of this month. Formatted the same as the others with the same number of perforated pages and being for the whole family, it is perfect for those who love flowers and birds! It includes many different species of birds with different types of plants that will be very fun to color, considering the wide range of colors flowers and birds give us. Plus, like the other books, they are scientifically accurate. There is even some bonuses to getting this book: a landscape poster that you can color and a free app you can download to listen to different bird sounds.

Want to try to color some birds like the ones in these books? You are in luck! Here are some sample coloring pages you can download for free on The Cornell Lab Publishing Group website. They include a description of the book, and a picture and description of the bird:

Thank you for joining me this month on Caitlin’s Corner! I hope you like the coloring books I suggested, and if you do, be sure to check them out on Amazon or other retailers, like Barnes and Noble. See you next month!
