July 2016: Inspirational Bird Quotes

Hey everyone, and welcome back to Caitlin’s Corner! If you are new here, then welcome: you are in for a tweet! This month, I will be highlighting some of my absolute favorite quotes related to birds said by very wise people. Not only are the quotes something to live by, but allow each and everyone one of us to spread our wings. So, I hope you feel extra inspirational this month:

1. “Intelligence without ambition is a bird without wings.” – Salvador Dali

My interpretation: If you do not have a strong desire to gain and use knowledge, then you will not get very far in life and not be able to do the things you would usually be able to do.

2. “Faith is the bird that feels the light when the dawn is still dark.” –Rabindranath Tagore

My interpretation: Having complete trust or confidence in something happening is when you have hope for the future and believe in something better that isn’t visible quite yet.

3. “Hold fast to dreams, for if dreams die, life is a broken-winged bird that cannot fly.” – Langston Hughes

My interpretation: Make sure you have dreams, because they are essential to having a life of happiness.

4. “The bird is powered by its own life and by its motivation.” – A. P. J. Abdul Kalam

My interpretation: We need to be more grateful for the life we are given and keep pushing through hard times, just like a bird would.

5. “I am no bird, and no net ensnares me, I am a free human being with an independent will.” – Charlotte Bronte

My interpretation: Charlotte Bronte believes that she cannot be trapped, like a bird, and has the right to do different actions based on her freedom.

6. “No bird soars too high if he soars with his own wings.” – William Blake

My interpretation: You should always try to reach the highest point of success, but only if you are doing the work to get there, as opposed to others doing that work for you.

7. “Living at risk is jumping off the cliff and building your wings on the way down.” – Ray Bradbury

My interpretation: When taking a risk, you need to simply build your support in taking that chance while it is happening instead of struggling beforehand. As they say, dive in headfirst.

8. “Let the beauty of what you love be what you do.” – Rumi

This quote in particular has always been extremely important to me. Everyday since I was 10, I’ve worn the same necklace. On the front, there is a bird sitting on a branch, while the back has this quote engraved in it. What I always tell people when they ask what it means is that you should do things in life that seem individually fitting and beautiful to you. My example is that if you love the birds, you should help care for the birds.
